Estarli Cycle Security: A Smarter Way to Protect Your E-Bike

For anyone living in towns or cities who might be planning to park up at work, outside shops or stations, bike theft is a frustrating—but very real—risk. That’s why we’ve introduced Estarli Cycle Security: a new recovery and replacement service, developed in partnership with the bike technology experts at BackPedal.

Available now for new Estarli customers, the service is designed to protect your bike from day one. Add it at checkout and, while your bike is being built in our Hertfordshire workshop, we’ll install a discreet, factory-fitted tracker—custom-designed with BackPedal—to help make it as theft-resistant as possible.

“We’re delighted to launch Estarli Cycle Security,” says James Dunn, Co-Founder at BackPedal. “When you’ve just bought a lovely new bike, the last thing you want to think about is it getting stolen. Estarli Cycle Security handles all of that for you and means we can look after your bike from day one.”

BackPedal has already recovered a number of Estarlis, with an impressive 80% success rate. Their recovery agents use smart, low-profile tech and proven processes to get bikes back quickly and safely.

“Installing trackers at the factory is an absolute no-brainer,” James adds. “It’s essentially the gold standard in making sure they’re really well hidden and secure. Our job at BackPedal is getting back stolen bikes, so it’s great to have Estarli and Estarli owners join us in the fight against bike crime.”

Estarli Co-Founder Oliver Francis explains: “Our frustration with bike crime is something we share with our customers. The recent launch of our commuter-focused X-range accelerated the process, but we’ve wanted to do this for a long time. We’re glad customers can now get trackers fitted to any Estarli—and more importantly, benefit from BackPedal’s excellent recovery and replacement service.”

And this is just the beginning. Soon, we’ll be offering a retrofit option for existing Estarli riders too. As Co-Founder Alex Francis puts it: “We build backward compatibility into all our models—because we hate waste, and we believe an Estarli shouldn’t just last for many years, but evolve over time.”
