Best value commuter bike

Best value commuter bike

The awards keep rolling in for the Estarli e28.X. The Hertfordshire brand's newest full frame e-bike is nicknamed ‘The Urban Belter’ because of its commuter-friendly lightweight design, hassle-free automatic 2-speed motor and, of course, belt drive. Cycling Electric, one of the leading e-bike publications, has awarded the bike the coveted ‘Best value commuter bike’ gong after being ‘blown away’ by what the e-bike offers commuters for under £2,000.

In its latest magazine, Cycling electric wrote, “what was immediately evident both on the tarmac and on riverside paths was the bike’s sublime ride quality delivered in tandem with an outstanding automatic gear hub and motor combination”. For Estarli Co-Founder Alex Francis, the review and the award are both exciting and humbling, “we have a great technical team here and they obsess over every detail of the design. We spent a long time building and testing e28 prototypes - which were often scrapped - in an effort to get the bike perfect so it's great to see our hard work has paid off. We hope the simplicity and ease of riding that comes from the unique Estarli e28.X geometry will get people smiling and riding more”.

Cycling Electric’s article continues; “Priced from £1,850 the e28.X is built primarily for urban commuting with a step-through frame option enhancing accessibility. The split tube styling gives the bike an aesthetic we like too, and this is combined with eye-catching paintwork that helps the bike stand out from the crowd.” In such a competitive part of the market, standing out is something Estarli works very hard to do. “We've packed a phenomenal amount of value into this package,” continues Alex, “smooth welds and totally routed cabling - not to mention the high specification componentry - means this bike tends to compete against equivalent models in the £2.5-3k price bracket”.

The Estarli e28.X has taken 2025 by storm and you can go for a test ride at one of Estarli’s 100+ dealers around the UK, at the Estarli factory in Berkhamsted or by dropping in to one of the many events Estarli exhibits at (upcoming events below, please contact Estarli for more information).
